The body as landscape
I explore my body and skin in an intimate relationship with the elements. My paintings are the fruit of this exploration of my feelings and my physical form: the body is perceived as a landscape, imbued with emotions and sensations.
This step aside, this distance, allows me to make the invisible visible.
In my series "The Body as Landscape," I put into practice the knowledge acquired during my Master's program: this detachment from the initial image in order to reclaim it and transform it into a profoundly personal work.
These fragments of the body then become elements of nature, emotional landscapes where the intimate meets the universal. Beyond form, this exploration questions our place as human beings within the world. I like to confront the human with the natural elements: what if the skin became sand or earth? What if the body transformed into a vortex, and the skin into water vapor?
